Thank you!!!!

Thank you Adventures in Babywearing and The Story of Fynn and Paige. The last couple months with my girls have been.....challenging (to say the least). And in the last few days you each had a post that felt like you were talking directly to me about the issues that I have been having and, in general, how I have been feeling. And it made me feel so much better to hear other moms talk about the same problems and that it's not just my almost 3 year old who acts out against their sibling because they are jealous. Or that wake up twelve times a night. Or yell because you just don't know what else to do sometimes. I knew I was not the only person going through this, but, sometimes you feel like you are. So to hear that, indeed, I am not alone was so reassuring and made me feel better as a mom. Because, frankly, I have not felt like a good mom in quite some time. So thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

'hopefully there are no cops around'

What a busy couple of days we've had! Saturday morning we left bright and early for our trip to Indianapolis for Husband's aunt's memorial service. I was a little more than nervous considering the fact that we've never traveled with Lizard and it's been a looong time since we've traveled with Noodle. All went great, though. Lizard slept the whole way there and back (about 2 1/2 hours) and Noodle slept the majority of the time. When she was awake she was wonderful.

After the service and luncheon, Husband went with his Dad to see the assisted living center where his Grandma lives. So my mother-in-law went with the girls and me to Husband's aunt and uncle's house. Being we didn't know where we were going we followed them so we wouldn't get lost (or so I thought). As we approach a stop light it turns yellow and his uncle goes through. Nervously, I floor it and run the red light. As I'm running the red light I say outloud 'hopefully there are no cops around.' Well that was the kiss of death because, sure enough, I check my rearview mirror and see flashing lights right on my bumper. Before the police officer says anything I immediately apologize and explain the situation to him. He was very nice about the whole thing, but, still needed my license and registration. I paniced even more because as I am looking for the registration in the glove box it is nowhere to be found. Luckily, the officer said he didn't really need to see it. whew! (it was located later thankfully) After he checked my outstanding driving record he very kindly gave us directions and didn't even give me a warning. As the officer walked away my mother-in-law and I had a big laugh and were able to find Donna and Peter's house quite easily. It made for a funny story the rest of the evening.

The last few days we have had beautiful weather and have spent a lot of it outside. Today, especially, I got a lot of yard work accomplished and the girls got a lot of fresh air. There is going to be a slight cool down, but, hopefully it won't last too long. We'll see, though.

Lizard and Noodle

Husband is leary of me showing pictures of Lizard and Noodle, but, I figure they're 'incognito' so it would be ok. These are my girls!

Good Report

Well, Lizard had her 4 month checkup yesterday and it went great! She weighs in at 15 lbs. even and is now 25 1/2 in. long. She performed all of her tricks for the doctor like a pro. Dr. Brogan's exact words were "she's perfect" (as if I did not know that already). Even though it was for a checkup it was really nice to have some time with just Lizard. With her being my second that doesn't happen too often. And while we were doing that Noodle had some one on one time with Husband. It worked out well for everyone. Other than that we haven't had a whole lot going on. Therefore, I really haven't had a lot to write about. No news is good news I suppose.

Today

Today we had a really great day. It started off rocky (having a 2 year old and a 4 month old we run that risk everyday), but, it was really good. The weather was beautiful and husband pulled in the drive way at 12:59 this afternoon! He's been getting home, average, between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. So that alone was a treat. He took Noodle outside to play for about an hour so I could get a few things done around the house and get the rest of dinner going. Boy did she hate it when it was time to come inside. It was ugly, to say the least. We had my Mom and Dad over dinner, which was long overdue. Again, with husband working the long days he has it's been impossible to plan anything. Noodle provided plenty of entertainment and we had lots of laughs because of her. She has the best sense of humor. Because we had a busy day she crashed hard around 8:00. What a blessing compared to the night before. That gave me a couple hours to spend with just Lizard. With her being my second one I don't get anywhere near the amount of time with her that I had with Noodle. She is getting to be so much fun. Her smile is absolutely contagious and her giggle is the best sound in the whole world. She is gabbering up a storm and is so close to rolling over. She gets to her right side and then kicks her left leg trying to get all the way over and onto her tummy. I think it will be any day now. Maybe even tomorrow.

prayers please

If everyone wouldn't mind we could use some prayers for my father-in-law's family. His sister passed away this afternoon after battling cancer. It was expected, but, still very upsetting. His Mom hasn't been told yet because they are trying to figure out the best way to tell her. She is 96 years old and this is the third child she has outlived. Please pray for them this week if you could. Much love and thanks :)
